I love Thanksgiving. It's easy to love a holiday that requires only that you cook and eat. It is remarkably low on family dysfunction, and even the most unfortunate Thanksgiving mishap becomes Thanksgiving lore, such as, "Mom, remember when you forgot to put sugar in the pumpkin pie?" or "Remember when the dog snatched the turkey off the table?" After 25 years of cooking Thanksgiving dinner, I swear that next year, I will get it right.
