Hindsight about clothing styles is never pretty, is it? Knee socks. I was six years old, and I vividly remember how sophisticated I suddenly was, now that I had these navy blue, cabled knee socks that came all the way up to my pale bony knees. I couldn't believe how fabulous they were.
