Franklin Habit

I remember with extreme fondness my first piece of formal wear - a tuxedo rented for a family wedding in which I, aged five, served as ring-bearer. The year was 1976, the American Bicentennial, and so the tux (including the regulation ruffled shirt) was tricked out in red, white and blue. No subsequent evening ensemble has made me feel quite so much the cat's pajamas.
