Marie Grace Smith

I've always been a tom-boy and so much taller than other kids my age that I felt like a dork. The first time I felt good about being a tall skinny girl was my first formal dance. I wore a silky little black A-line with a slight flounce at the bottom. It was a little on the short side and fitted through the waist. I'm not sure who was more pleased with my not-so-tom-boy-ish appearance... me or my date. I remember that dance like it was yesterday and I still have the dress.
