Cathy Carron

Naturally, my first impulse is to say “knit continental,” as it was my Latvian grandmother who so wonderfully and inadvertently passed that on to me. My second impulse is to say “garden.” It was my mother, well into her sixties at the time, who showed me how to dig a “golden hole,” i.e. one in which a plant would thrive. I love my garden so much that sometimes I wonder if I would have become a gardener or horticulturalist had my mother gotten to me first.
