For this issue, we asked our contributors, “What’s the best thing you’ve ever brought home from your travels?” Click on the pictures for their answers and links to their websites.

I don’t buy a lot when I travel, but I always try to bring home some sort of trinket. However, usually the best things I bring home are my memories. One of the best trips I’ve ever had was the 2 weeks I spent inside the Venezuelan Amazon. We slept in hammocks, hiked into some deeper jungle where I traded Polaroid photographs for a carved face and body stamp with a Piaroa tribesman and ate some local indigenous food. I also saw the most spectacular and brightest 3-day meteor shower—something that an overwhelming majority of those in the modern world will never see.
