A few years ago I had the luxury of teaching in Southern France, on a French Girl Knits Tour about an hour outside of Montpellior. Our location was wonderful—an old vineyard transformed into an Inn—and, as with any older building, there was a fair share of unexpected visitors.
One morning I awoke to a scorpion crawling down my wall, I captured it and doused it with some expensive astringent I’d just purchased (a very French way to go, I thought...) and once it was completely dead I stored it in a bead container and brought it home for my 10 year old son. We have since turned it into a Lucite paperweight, the coolest souvenir EVAH!
