I love, love, love old magazines with baby knits—the older the better. If I can find one of those yellowed, tattered patterns from last century, I lose all rationality and can end up spending a lot of money for them. I also enjoy looking at babies who are now as old as my grandmother. How do I save money? I should avoid yarn shops, antiquarian bookshops, and peddlers’ markets . . . but I don’t want to.
