Twist Style Friday: Wingspan

Every Friday we feature one of the garments from the magazine in a post about styling. We suggest different ways to wear the garment in question using mock-ups from Polyvore. We encourage readers to tell us what they think about these outfits via our Facebook page or Twitter, and if folks want to make their own outfits, please tweet them at us with the hashtag #twiststyle. You can find all of the Style Friday posts here.

If you've looked through our latest issue, you know that this instalment of Swatch It took a dozen sweater patterns from previous issues of Twist and gave them new life by switching up the yarns used in their making (which, in case you forgot, you can get as a pattern bundle at a deep discount!). The one we are looking at today is Wingspan, first published in Winter 2010, which was before Style Friday was a thing we were doing. This excites me.

I once called this sweater "the cure for second sleeve syndrome" because of how you knit the whole top half side to side in one piece, then work the cowl upwards and the ribbed body downwards, both from stitches you pick up from the cabled section. Tell me that doesn't sound like fun.

The cables are stunning, and the unconventional construction gives me glee. Knitting adventure! In the pages of Twist we have shown you Wingspan as the star of an outfit.  She totally shines with proper basics like jeans or black pants. Since I am the opposite of a minimalist, in styling, I wanted to ask the question- but what if *everything* shines?

My prescription: sparkles and circles, circles and sparkles.

How will you wear Wingspan
