Twist Style Friday: Zigreta
Every Friday we feature one of the garments from the magazine in a post about styling. We suggest different ways to wear the garment in question using mock-ups from Polyvore. We encourage readers to tell us what they think about these outfits via our Facebook page or Twitter, and if folks want to make their own outfits, please tweet them at us with the hashtag #twiststyle. You can find all of the Style Friday posts here.
Fall is the best. It's my favorite season. I love everything about it. You will get bored of hearing (or reading) me say that until winter arrives. I'm heading to a camp for the weekend, and I am bringing a bathing suit and a toque, and I couldn't be happier about it. I may even wear them at the same time.
When I saw the clothes in the new issue, wanted to immediately style everything. I may have, in fact, played paper dolls with several of them over the last few days. I had to choose one to start off the styling season with. So I picked one of my faves. Oh, hello Zigreta.
This is one of those garments that is thoughtfully designed from all angles. The back is just as pretty as the front. That neckline is so pretty. Someone on twitter was talking about making one as a cardigan, skeeking it right down the middle. A serious cardigan girl myself, I love this idea.
You know me, I like silly clothes and flashy things, but I think this sweater, particularly in a bright color, should really be the star of your outfit's show. I paired it with shades of grey and simple shoes.
How will you wear Zigreta?

Designer Post: Merise ***plus invite for Toronto area knitters
Fiona Ellis designed two lovely patterns from our Spring/Summer issue, Charleston and Merise. Today she shares an exciting experience for a designer, meeting someone out in the real world, wearing a garment knit from one of her patterns. Read all about it, and keep up with Fiona on her website or twitter feed. Read on to hear about a Twist event that Fiona will be hosting!
Designing a knit project has a series of exciting stages:
"As for Twist, I think it is close to being the ideal online knitting magazine--beautifully laid out, linked ads for maximum temptation of readers and (for me, at least) never an issue without patterns I just have to have for my future projects. It's always such a pleasure to go through, and I know I do at least three runs: one to look at everything quickly, one to read all the articles and follow the most tempting ads, and one for pattern acquisition". -Pam Samuels
Heads up Toronto area knitters; I'll be hosting a fashion show on September 18 featuring garments from the freshly minted Fall 2013 issue of Twist. Other GTA local Twist designers will be present, including Glenna C, Laura Chau, Barbara Gregory, and Elizabeth McCarten, and Kate will hopefully be joining us via skype from Montreal
If you can, come wearing a Twist garment, or just come! See the flier below for all the details. Hope to see you there!!
