The hat is worked in the round from the bottom up, with a short section of stranded colorwork before finishing in reverse Stockinette stitch. The cowl is worked in the round from the bottom up in stranded colorwork. The stranded colorwork patterns are given in chart form only.

The Fibre Company Canopy Fingering (200 yd per 50 g skein; 50% Baby Alpaca, 30% Merino, 20% Viscose Bamboo):
1 skein each in #791 Orchid (MC) and #302 River Dolphin (CC)

One hank of each color will make both hat and cowl.

Size 1 ½ US / 2.5 mm circular needle, 16" / 40 cm long
Size 2 ½ US / 3 mm circular needle, 16" / 40 cm long, and needle(s) in preferred style for small circumference knitting in the round
Size 3 US / 3.25 mm circular needle, 16" / 40 cm long

Hat
32 sts and 36 rnds = 4" / 10 cm in reverse Stockinette stitch using size 2 ½ US / 3 mm needle

Cowl
32 sts and 32 rnds = 4" / 10 cm in Tangent Rib using size 3 US / 3.25 mm needle
