The hat is worked in the round from brim to top. It begins with a solid color facing, then the remainder is worked in the stranded colorwork technique. The mittens begin with a Latvian Braid, then they are worked in the round from cuff to tip using the stranded colorwork technique. The colorwork patterns are given in chart form only.
