Construction Notes: This cardigan is worked seamlessly from the bottom up. The ribbed hems are split at the lower edge. The waist shaping is integrated into the lace panels at each side. The sleeves are worked separately to the armholes and feature a faux underarm gusset. They are joined to the body and the yoke of the sweater is worked in one piece to the shoulders, with the set-in sleeve caps shaped along the way. The shoulders are shaped by short rows, and then joined with a two stitch saddle. The ribbed neckband is tapered with short rows. The button bands are worked from stitches picked up along the edges. The lace patterns are given in chart form only. |
