These easy-to make lampshades are designed to work with widely available pendant light socket sets. Three different designs are included in the pattern, one featuring the added sparkle of beads. This collection will brighten any room of your home. Make them in classic white for a more traditional feel, or choose brights to add a playful splash of color to a dark corner.
Diameter: 11” / 28 cm
Length: Green and purple versions are 13” / 33 cm; yellow version is 15” / 38 cm.
Yarn: Halcyon Yarn Block Island Blend (175 yds / 160 m per 2 oz / 57 g cone; 35% Hemp, 35% Cotton, 30% Rayon):
3 cones each of #237 green, #110 yellow and #235 purple

Size 4 US / 3.5 mm circular needle, 32” / 80 cm long
Size 6 US / 4 mm circular needle, 32” /80 cm long (for yellow version only)
Stitch marker, tapestry needle, pliers
For each shade: two metal rings 11” / 28 cm diameter (Darice #1722 9” Metal Ring Gold), 14” / 35.5 cm piece of 12-gauge wire (Darice #1186-49 Silver Floral Wire), spray paint to match yarn (optional), pendant lamp socket kit (World Market 15’ / 3.8 m White Electrical Cord Kit #366990)
For purple version only: 175 size 6/0 glass seed beads in lavender transparent rainbow, size 13 / 0.85 mm steel crochet hook
Gauge: 26 sts and 36 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch on smaller needle before machine washing and drying
Construction Notes: The lampshades are worked in the round from the bottom up. The lace pattern for the beaded shade is given in chart form only. Complete instructions for assembling your lamp are included in the pattern.
