Construction Notes: This top is worked in pieces and sewn together. The back begins with a cabled strip which forms the lower edge. Stitches are picked up along the edge of this strip and the piece is worked to the shoulders. The lower front begins the same as the back, and is worked to the empire waistline, which is shaped with short rows. The upper front is worked separately and includes the cabled medallion which extends into the neckband. The fronts are joined with an i-cord bind off, which is extended to form ties. The short set-in sleeves feature the same cable band as the lower edge. Instructions for the cables and the central medallion are given in both charts and row-by-row instructions. |
