Construction Notes: This cardigan is worked seamlessly from the neck down. It begins with a provisional cast on. The shoulders and back neck are shaped with short rows, and then the back is worked down to the armholes. Stitches are recovered from the cast on edge and the fronts are worked to the armholes. The back and fronts are joined and worked in the round to the lower edge, with waist shaping along the way. The hem is finished with k2, p2 ribbing. Stitches are picked up around the armhole and the sleeves are worked down to the cuffs. The ribbed neckband and button bands are worked from stitches picked up along the edges. The lace pattern is given in chart form only. |
