Surprisingly, not wool. It’s a collection of clam shells and sand dollars that I display in our living room. My kids, then about 6 and 9, picked them up while on holiday on a beach at Newport, Rhode Island. Now that the kids are 18 and 21, the shells are a reminder of time spent knitting on a windy beach with seagulls swooping and calling overhead while happy kids dug in the wet sand for treasures. Proof that some of the best things in life are free!
