The best thing I ever brought home from traveling was the ability to knit.

I was an exchange student in Denmark and the girls there were so cool they could knit socks and learn physics at the same time, so I was determined to learn to knit so I could be cool too. I went to an expensive tourist shop and bought some very pricey yarn. My first attempt was a fiasco, but because the yarn was so expensive (tourists beware!), I persevered and came home with a new skill that has lasted ever since. Oh yeah, and I also got some really cool Dansko shoes too...
