Every Friday we feature one of the garments from the magazine in a post about styling. We suggest different ways to wear the garment in question using mock-ups from Polyvore. We encourage readers to tell us what they think about these outfits via our Facebook page or Twitter, and if folks want to make their own outfits, please tweet them at us with the hashtag #twiststyle. You can find all of the Style Friday posts here.
A very happy Friday indeed to you all! Not only is it time for our weekly fashion fun time, this week also marks the fifth anniversary of Twist Collective. Birthdays like this are a great opportunity to look back at where we've been, what we've accomplished, and the friends we've made along the way. I get real mushy about community building folks. This isn't just a celebration of a publication we're all proud of (though it is also that!); it's a celebration of everyone who felt inspired by something they saw or read; everyone who learned a new knitting skill so they could take on a project; everyone who got together with their friends to work on projects; everyone who followed us on Twitter, liked us on Facebook, read or contributed to discussons on Ravelry, submitted a design, took out an ad in our pages; everyone who participated in this community of creativity and creation and inspiration. You're great.
We want to give you stuff, and some of the companies that help make us possible have given us some pretty magical stuff to pass along to you! Keep a close eye on us in the next little while for chances to win patterns, yarn, needles, yarn, darning eggs, yarn, books, yarn, gift certificates, and YARN YARN YARN.
So maybe I had celebration on the brain when I styled this week's garment, the lovely Liliium.
I think Lilium is a prefect topper to any party dress, whether you're going to a picnic in a park or the symphony. I don't know where *exactly* you would be going in those metal-heeled shoes, but I think I would like to go with you.
One of the most stunning elements of this sweater is actually the back. Your friends (or your date to the symphony) may not like to see you go, but they will enjoy watching you walk away.
Happy fifth, happy friday, happy (almost) fall!
How will you wear Lilium?
