Every Friday we feature one of the garments from the magazine in a post about styling. We suggest different ways to wear the garment in question using mock-ups from Polyvore. We encourage readers to tell us what they think about these outfits via our Facebook page or Twitter, and if folks want to make their own outfits, please tweet them at us with the hashtag #twiststyle. You can find all of the Style Friday posts here.
Happy Friday everyone! Today I am on my way to a cottage a couple of hours north of Toronto, with a friend of mine and her family, a group that as of quite recently includes a real cute baby. He is probably my closest baby friend. I'm really excited to hang out with them and get in what could be my last lake-swims of the season. If you are not into babies, look away, because I cannot resist showing you a photo of him (wearing a sweater I knitted before he was even a person)!
I hope you all have equally exciting weekend plans, and maybe they include casting on for a project from our new issue? I hope you'll think about knitting Farthingale. She's real pretty.
There is lots going on- this sweater has tons of gorgeous details - but the plain portions in front and back keep the overall look understated.
I wanted to pair this with black, black, and more black. Maybe I was inspired by my friend Clara, who has been dyeing old clothes black in her sink to give them new (summertime goth) life! Here you go. All the black!
How will you wear Farthingale?
