Every Friday we feature one of the garments from the magazine in a post about styling. We suggest different ways to wear the garment in question using mock-ups from Polyvore. We encourage readers to tell us what they think about these outfits via our Facebook page or Twitter, and if folks want to make their own outfits, please tweet them at us with the hashtag #twiststyle. You can find all of the Style Friday posts here.
Happy Friday, fashion fans. As you read this, I am probably reading silly stories out loud to my friend Jenn as we drive from Toronto to Montreal for a weekend jam-packed with wonderful friends. I just packed my weekend bag, which is a skill I have really honed over the last several years. Thanks, long distance dating!
This week's featured sweater, Ivyle, is the kind of thing I would pack for just about any trip.
I would wear it over a summer dress on a cool night, with a cotton skirt or comfy pants to drink coffee by a misty lake at a cottage, or out for dinner with something a little dressy.
I love the square-ish neckline, the sleeve length, the split hem, and the simple, echoing lace.
I think all three of these looks are a little sweet, a little edgy, and a little sexy. The shoes really make all the difference.
I also know that not everyone eschews pants quite like I do, and some of you may wish to wear your lovely top with bifurcated garment. I respect your choice. Especially if you accessorize with anything inspired by giraffes, because giraffes are wondeful and bizarre.
How will you wear Ivyle?
