Every Friday we feature one of the garments from the magazine in a post about styling. We suggest different ways to wear the garment in question using mock-ups from Polyvore. We encourage readers to tell us what they think about these outfits via our Facebook page or Twitter, and if folks want to make their own outfits, please tweet them at us with the hashtag #twiststyle. You can find all of the Style Friday posts here.
Happy Friday!!! Even happier because you probably know what it means when we start doubling up on style posts, if you're a regular Twist reader. hint hint.
They'e both cabled, hip length sweaters with cozy high necks, but they really have different flavors. Shannonmore is a real classic. Dense cables all over, saddle shoulders, and a little bit of positive ease for the snuggliest sweater.
Kinda stunning, I think. I love knitting BIG cables like this. It's kind of meditative, especially since the patterns here are predictable enough to not just be squinting at a chart the whole time.
Boreas is almost a jacket, the cables more plantlike than knotlike, growing organically from the ribbing as a backdrop.
Both are versatile pieces that you can dress up or down. Here are some of my ideas! For Shannonmore, my recipe is understated bottoms and shoes that turn up the volume.
The Boreas outfits I worked on while watching Nashville, so I may have been gently influenced by some of the characters. That's Scarlet O'Connor in the middle there, and Rayna James on the left. The one on the right miiiight be Maddie Conrad.
