Every Friday we feature one of the garments from the magazine in a post about styling. We suggest different ways to wear the garment in question using mock-ups from Polyvore. We encourage readers to tell us what they think about these outfits via our Facebook page or Twitter, and if folks want to make their own outfits, please tweet them at us with the hashtag #twiststyle. You can find all of the Style Friday posts here.

I had a really slow groggy morning, fashion fans. It's been a big couple of weeks, and I just wanted to stay in my bed until the leaves turn crimson and ochre. I have settled at a cafe with a sandwich and an iced coffee before me. Just before sitting down to write this, I opened a piece of mail from some friends of mine who just relocated to a smaller city outside Toronto, inviting me to their friendsgiving party, and the envelope was full of glitter. Half an hour ago, my day could be described as languid, slow, and gentle. Now it's bright, alert, and sparkly. Neither of these are bad, they are just different ways of having a day. Same could be said, I think, about the transformation that Kirigami underwent when she got a little Swatch It style makeover for our Spring Summer issue.

version one, purple and cream version two

The OG Kirigami is snuggly and subtle. She's interesting and constructed unconventionally, but she doesn't smack you upside the head with her differentness. She's quirky, but just a little. New school Kirigami brings on the drama. She's bold and loud and she wants to be seen.

This sweater is packed full of details I love: tiny buttons, a changeable neckline, multidirectional stripes, contrast hems, and asymmetry. YUM!

new version, looking fab

I can sometimes be a sucker for a trend, and a knitting one I'm pretty into right now is gradient yarns. I think this sweater would be a stunning and unusual pattern choice for a gradient yarn or set- one continuous color, striped with an ombre, wouldn't that be gorgeous??

The contrast in the new version made me want to go big with the styling. Welcome to drama-rama, friends.

How will you wear Kirigami
