Every Friday we feature one of the garments from the magazine in a post about styling. We suggest different ways to wear the garment in question using mock-ups from Polyvore. We encourage readers to tell us what they think about these outfits via our Facebook page or Twitter, and if folks want to make their own outfits, please tweet them at us with the hashtag #twiststyle. You can find all of the Style Friday posts here.
Happy Friday friends!
It's finally October, the most wonderful time of the year. Warm days and cool evenings are helping me sleep and encouraging me to knit sweaters and make soups and I really just think this time of the year is perfection. I'm making myself a super plain pullover right now, that I think I will were every day this winter, but I also want to make some really luscious textured sweaters. Have you taken a close look at Carrick?
This color reminds me of my first pair of Doc Martens, which were a kind of blackened cherry. This piece would be stunning in just about any shade, but this one has so much lovely depth. I would advise keeping the tone rich and deep with just a hint of variation. This bouncy, round yarn is perfect for this high relief cable pattern, and comes in a whole lot of gorgeous tonal colorways.
Also this thing happens in October where suddenly pumpkins and decorative gourds and vaguely spooky things are everywhere and I love it. Halloween isn't really my thing, but I get a little deep witch sometimes. Carrick can get a little witchy too; check it out. I love me a little aggressive femininity, and I think Carrick is a bold enough babe to carry off just about any big look. I suggest serious textures and powerful shoes.
How will you wear Carrick?
