Something I have always loved about colorwork is the interplay of positive and negative space. It's wild the impact it can have on a pattern just by flipping the main and contrast colors. Kyllene (from Winter 2011) shows that so well, since the pattern flips these two partway down the yoke.
That keyhole in the front is also a lovely detail, but if it isn't your style, you could make that slit into a button placket, or even install a zipper!
