Construction Notes: The body of this sweater is worked in one piece from the bottom up. The curved lower edge is formed by casting on stitches at the end of each row until the desired width is reached. The body is worked to the armholes, then divided for front and back and continued to the shoulders. The set-in sleeves are worked separately and sewn in place. Stitches are picked up along the edges, then the lace border is joined to the sweater as it is worked. Short rows allow the the border to turn the corners at the lower front. The collar is knit separately and sewn in place. A crocheted drawstring is threaded through the knitting at the center back waist to create adjustable shaping gathers. The texture and lace patterns are presented both in charts and in row-by-row instructions.
